Laser cutting is a technology that utilizes a high powered laser to slice through various materials. The same technology is used to etch and engrave as well. Laser cutting is a CNC application. This means any 2D design can be cut, which makes it a helpful tool for bringing creative designs to life.

Scanning 2D designs for recreation is easy as well! The laser can reproduce something as simple as a napkin sketch. On top of that, the scanning function will recognize objects. This means etching and engraving can be performed on objects that exist already. The laser works on curved objects too. As an example, a metal flask can be engraved with a person’s own hand written text. This feature can add a personal touch to your project.
Starter Design currently supports laser cutting on materials measuring 12″ x 20″ and up to 2″ thick. If the material is 20″ wide and less than 1/4″ thick, an unlimited length can be processed.
